The club conducts two major fundraising events each year. Our primary fundraiser is the annual U.S. National Oyster Festival in October, where the club sells boutique collectibles, crafts, baked goods, coffee and refreshments along with holding a silent auction and flea market. The club also sponsors at least two clothing drives each year. Whether you’re new to the county or a long-time resident, we welcome your participation. Membership offers individuals a sense of fellowship with others from diverse backgrounds and interests and the opportunity to contribute your talent and creativity toward improving the quality of life in our county. Interested in learning more? Come check us out on the third Monday of the month at 11 a.m. at the Patuxent River Ale House (unless otherwise noted). A Dutch-treat lunch is served at noon.

COUNTDOWN TO TODAY'S DONATION DRIVE THRU
Come see us on your way to the Airshow!!

Less than an hour til we get going on today's donation drive thru!

SATURDAY JUNE 20TH 10-12 AT STORE HERE SELF STORAGE

21502 Great Mills Rd, Lexington Park, MD 20653

Please bring BAGGED donations through the gate and you'll see us on the left. NO ELECTRONICS, GLASS OR BOOKS!

We appreciate your donations and kindly request that your bags not be too heavy, if possible. We are mighty women but we have weight limits 😅

Bags can include any type of textiles (clothing of any kind/bedding/shoes/stuffies/etc), some decor and household items as long as they are NOT electronics, glass or books.

Thank you to all of you who have donated before, our regulars and those of you we have yet to meet!!

We are still brainstorming ideas for this year's Christmas tree raffle! A Patriotic theme to celebrate the United States of America's 250th anniversary has been tossed around. Suggestions and craft donations are welcome!

Remember all of your donations go towards our community. Sometimes items are redistributed locally and some end up in the form of monetary donations, and scholarships to local highschool grads! Every donated item makes a difference!

🌱 The delicate flower of a hosta, still damp with dew in the morning sun 🌞 grown here in Lexington Park and handed down through generations of local St Mary's County natives. Did you know that hosta plants are edible? They're not good for our pets to eat but are very popular in Asian countries, referred to as "mountain food" and used in a variety of dishes. They are also loved for their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties in natural medicine!

Today's meeting was a special one! Our last meeting of this season as we take the summer months off and the one where we celebrated our new board members who will take the reigns from their predecessors.

We had Barbara Sopato from the Rotary Club here in St Mary's County as our guest speaker and she brought with her a delightful brightness and cheer as well as a pot of flowers for each of our new board members. Barbara shared lovely stories of her mother along with the meaning and memories that her gifts represent.
We are grateful for Barbara and her help with the Oyster Festival and what that event means for our group and our community!

May we all have a blessed summer full of many happy memories!

Our next meeting will be Monday September 21st at 11am. We will meet at the PAX River Ale House for a Dutch style lunch, all are welcome to attend!

ALSO!
Please remember that this Saturday June 20th we are holding a donation drive thru at the Store Here Storage Facility on Great Mills Rd. You can find more information about this on our page!
