We also support the work of Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services (food & clothing bank) and Conestoga Valley SEEDS (housing, education, health). Good Friday Service - held on Good Friday each year at one of the participating churches. Thanksgiving Service - held the third Sunday evening of November at one of the participating churches. Scholarship - The ministerium provides an annual scholar to the graduating high school senior in our district who is attending college to study ministry.

The God Who Restores
Key Scriptures: Joel 2:25; Isaiah 40:28–31; John 11
Joel 2:25-26 (ESV) 25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.
26 “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God,
who has dealt wondrously with you. And my people shall never again be put to shame.
Have you ever noticed that when life falls apart, our first prayer is almost always the same?
"Lord...fix this."
Fix my health.
Fix my marriage.
Fix my finances.
Fix my family.

There's nothing wrong with praying that. God tells us to bring every burden to Him.
But here's something I've learned at the school of hard knocks.
Sometimes God is more interested in changing us than He is in changing our circumstances.
Sometimes He doesn't just restore what we lost...
He restores the person who lost it.
There was a family I know who lost almost everything financially. One unexpected event led to another until the bills piled up faster than they could pay them. The savings disappeared. They wondered if they were going to lose their home.
At first, they argued. They were worried. They blamed themselves.
But then something changed.
Instead of fighting each other, they started praying together.
Every night they gathered around the kitchen table and asked God to help them make it through one more day.
Their kids saw Mom and Dad trusting Jesus instead of panicking.
Church friends showed up with groceries and encouragement.
Their marriage became stronger than it had ever been.
Eventually, the finances recovered.
But years later, when they talked about that season, they realized something.
The greatest miracle wasn't that God restored their bank account.
The greatest miracle was that He restored their family.
That's what God does.
Joel gave God's people an incredible promise:
Verse 25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…
Think about that for a minute.
Only God can take years that seem wasted and make something beautiful out of them.
Only God can take a broken heart and make it compassionate.
Only God can take an addiction and turn it into a testimony.
Only God can take a failure and use it to help someone else find hope.

Isaiah reminds us that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength.
Isaiah 40:31 (ESV) 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Waiting doesn't mean doing nothing.
Waiting means trusting that even when you can't see God working...He never stopped working.
Then we come to John chapter 11.
Mary and Martha believed Jesus had come too late.Their brother Lazarus was dead.
From their point of view, the story was over.
But Jesus wasn't late.
He was preparing to show them that He is "the resurrection and the life."
What looked like the end became the beginning of one of the greatest miracles in the Bible.
Maybe that's where you are today.
Maybe you're looking at your marriage, your health, your finances, or your future and thinking, "It's over."
Please listen my friend, don't give up so easily. You are tougher than that.
If Jesus can call a dead man out of a tomb, He can breathe new life into places you've already written off.
Will everything go back to the way it was?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
But I can promise you this:
If you trust Him through the pain, God will never waste it.
One day you'll look back and realize He wasn't just restoring your circumstances.
He was restoring you.
Big Truth
God doesn't just help us survive our struggles.
He redeems them.
And your greatest pain may one day become your greatest testimony.

"Sometimes God's greatest miracle isn't changing your circumstances. It's changing you while you're living through them." -Rev

Prayer
Father, thank You for never giving up on us. When all we can see is what's been lost, help us trust that You're still working. Restore our hearts before You restore our circumstances. Give us strength to keep believing, even when we can't see what You're doing. And when this season is over, let our story point someone else to Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

"When Your World Falls Apart: Finding God in the Middle of the Storm."
Key Scriptures: Psalm 46:1-3, Isaiah 41:10, Romans 8:38-39, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9.
Psalm 46:1-3 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah.
When life breaks apart, it feels like the ground itself is shifting. David isn't promising us an escape route; he's pointing us to a refuge (Hideout). Having a hideout doesn't mean the storm disappears. It means you have somewhere solid and safe to hangout or take shelter. Picture a tough old Biker, thousands of miles behind him, no fear of the road. Then the doctor says, "Cancer." Suddenly, the toughest road isn't rough asphalt or dirt roads; it's uncertainty. And for the first time in years, he bows his head and prays. That moment doesn't erase the diagnosis, but it does change the way he rides through it.
Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah reminds us that God doesn't promise an explanation. He promises His presence. "I will strengthen you, help you, uphold you." And Paul learned this too. In the book of Romans 8:38,39 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul says "We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed." Your pain is real, but it is not the end of your story.
What memory or current struggle have you been keeping to yourself or trying to deal with alone?
Imagine what it would look like or how you might feel if you said a simple prayer like, “Dear God I've been struggling with (You fill in the blank) I am trusting You to help me with this today. In Jesus name, Amen.” and then stop thinking about it, continuing with your day focusing on something else you can easily accomplish.
Prayer:
"Heavenly Father, today I am bringing you what I can't carry. My pain, worries and heartbreak. Thank you for being near when everything else feels uncertain. Help me trust that You are always near, even without answers I have faith that You will take care of me. Give me strength for today and everyday helping me stay faithful. In Jesus name, Amen."

Today's challenge: Take five quiet minutes and tell God exactly what you're afraid of. Then thank him for walking with you through it.

"God doesn't always calm the storm immediately, but he always remains faithful in the middle of it.” - REV
