Green Meadow Farm

Green Meadow Farm Serving children from ages 6-18 who are struggling with social or emotional issues.

We help emotionally hurting children and young adults through the use of horses and farm life. Providing uniquely tailored horse lessons free of charge, we focus on helping the youth by pairing them with one horse and a leader. By working together with the horses and around the farm, we strive to bring healing strength, and restored joy in their journey. Our program is designed to serve children from the ages of 6-18 who are struggling with social or emotional issues.

Join us in giving a shoutout to our July Volunteer of the Month, Kendie!

“In the short time I’ve known Kendie, I’ve seen what a hardworking person she is. On my very first day working with her, Kendie made an effort to get to know me and made me feel so included, and she continues to do so every time I see her. Every Friday morning (and many other days when she covers shifts), she comes in the barn with a smile on her face and always asks how we are and how our weeks have been. Kendie always has a plan, and we can always count on her to figure things out if things get confusing. Her patience is never-ending. I greatly admire her work ethic and attention to detail with every little thing. Kendie is an absolutely amazing person, and I’m so incredibly lucky to work with her every week.” -Maddie

“Kendie is such a delight to work with! I always look forward to our conversations while we muck together! Kendie has a gift for connecting with others, be it the horses or other volunteers on her chore shift. She first began with minimal horse experience, but has grown so much in her ability to work with these amazing animals! She knows how to get things done efficiently and with excellence, without forgetting to find joy in the little things. Kendie bravely dove headfirst into farm life last October and has been such a reliable and dedicated part of our team ever since!” - Chanel

“This summer has been my first volunteer season at Green Meadow Farm. Kenie, my mentor has ben so much fun to work with. She is so good with the horses. I am very grateful to have met her and worked beside her.” - Jeremiah

“I’m glad that we do a chore here!” a young student said this week. At Green Meadow Farm, we connect children with farm life, not just horses, to bring refreshment, renewal, and rest.

Everyone, meet the newest additions to Green Meadow Farm! ✨ These kittens have quickly stolen our hearts and settled into farm life naturally!

Since our cats have had Narnia themed names, we had to carry on the tradition: The calico is Polly (from The Magician’s Nephew) and the orange boy is Mr. Tumnus (from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe). Polly is sweet and sensitive while Tumnus is bubbly and curious - both have thoroughly enjoyed getting loved on by our students!

Our dear Lucy is still warming up to her new friends, so we’d appreciate prayers for a smooth introductory process.

Would you join us in celebrating and thanking Betty for her 12 wonderful years serving at Green Meadow Farm? Betty has recently made the decision to step down from her position at the farm, and while we are very sad to not have her around as frequently, she has promised to not be a stranger, and we bless her as she goes out.

12 years is a long time. Betty has stood with Green Meadow Farm from its early years till now. She has impacted our program and served in many capacities from instructor and family support, to office manager and our unofficial sign artist! Her wisdom, s***k, and devotion to the Lord has been such a gift to this ministry in so many ways!

In Betty’s 10 years as an instructor, she mentored almost 50 students, many of whom returned for additional lessons with her.

Thank YOU, Betty! We love you!

Did you know? 18 students are coming for lessons this summer and are receiving one-on-one mentorship at Green Meadow Farm. We believe God brought each child to the farm for a reason, and we are excited to see how these kids are impacted during their time here!
