Yesterday Kiwanis member Kimberley Mancuso was at Briarwood Elementry School and gave the K-6 approx 500 plus kids a talk on what it means to be a Marine a woman veteran. Thank you for your service and thank you for reaching the children of Joco.

Our very own Kiwanis member & past President Kimberley Mancuso was awarded the Marine Of The Year Award from the Marine Corps League of Lenexa, KS We salute her and all the Marines for keeping us all safe and for their service. Also Happy Birthday to all the Marines as today is the 250th birthday and

JoCoKiwanis members Jane Scaro and Elnora Nokes delivered Amazon gift cards to the 28 teachers at Growing Futures Early Childhood Education Center. The club also provides members to read to the students once a month. Growing Futures is just one of the many local organizations that JoCoKiwanis supports with time and $$.

We are very proud of our member Kimberley Mancuso. She has served our club as past president and we have always been awed by her level of energy and her dedication to helping children.

Yesterday, Kimberley was elected Vice Governor of the Kiwanis District of Kansas and was sworn in by Kiwanis International Trustee Mario Bruni. She will assume this role as of October 1st.

This means she will be Governor-Elect in October 2026 and then Governor of the Kiwanis District of Kansas in October 2027. So proud of her.

In addition, she was also recognized for her past year of service as Lt. Governor of Division 9.

June 12 is National Women Veterans Recognition Day.

On this day in 1948, President Harry Truman signed the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, allowing women to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. military.
