Update! We have had a couple meetings with philanthropy at Children’s Mercy and have been directed to the proper representative. On Tuesday we are going to sit down to figure out more specific logistics on how to make this dream happen.

Our inspiration for this charity, Olivia, receives blood products multiple times per week due to her chemotherapy. If she couldn't get platelets or blood transfusions, the outcome would be devastating. Please donate.

The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage as it experiences the lowest number of people giving blood in the last 20 years. Blood and platelet donations are needed now to help alleviate the shortage and ensure lifesaving medical procedures proceed without delay.

We are also going to ask to hang metal badges above the bed so if you donate an entire bed, you can support or honor a loved one! Example below :)

Cancer is hard, hospital beds shouldn't be!

We had our initial contact with the manager on the oncology floor at Children's Mercy. She is researching the specifics that would be required to be met to allow new beds to be donated. We will follow-up next week to keep everyone updated!

When life is hard, a lack of sleep makes it even harder. We are excited to provide these families with a greater sense of comfort.

Welcome! Beds for the Brave has one goal. To help with a good nights sleep for parents and caregivers while their child is in the hospital fighting cancer. These caregivers are brave hero's who support their child day in and day out. They deserve the most comfortable bed possible. If you have slept in a hospital room, you know the parents sleeping conditions are not ideal.

These hero's are taking care of their warriors, so we need to take care of the hero's by ensuring they have a high quality bed. Join us on our mission to raise funds for our initial recipient, the Hematology/Oncology floor at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. These parents are here for weeks or even months at a time, so lets make their stay more comfortable. As soon as the hospital approves it, the fundraiser will begin!
