Supporting a loved one living with a mental health condition can bring unique challenges, and you don’t have to navigate them alone.

Join NAMI’s Partner & Spouse Family Support Group, a welcoming and supportive space for spouses and partners of individuals living with mental health conditions. Connect with others who understand your experiences, share your story in a judgment-free environment, and discover encouragement, understanding, and hope.

Connect with partners and spouses who understand your journey

Share experiences and learn from others

Find emotional support and encouragement

Build coping skills and explore helpful resources

CHC in collaboration with Community Service of Johnson County are hosting Community Advocacy Academy! Please join UCS JoCo for their upcoming Community Advocacy Academy on October 28 & 29, 2026.

Designed for both community members and service providers, the Advocacy Academy will equip you with the tools, confidence and knowledge to make your voice heard — whether you're contacting elected officials or mobilizing your neighborhood around shared concerns.

Participants will gain:
• A strong grounding in advocacy fundamentals
• Practical strategies to use data + storytelling for impactful messages
• Skills to set clear advocacy goals and build an actionable plan

October 28th from 10am-4pm
October 29th from 9am-3pm

Have you heard of a mental health Clubhouse? It’s so much more than a program. It’s a community.

At Pathway to Hope, our Clubhouse offers adults living with mental illness a welcoming place to build meaningful relationships, discover their strengths, develop skills, and work toward a fulfilling life.

🏡 So, what exactly is a Clubhouse?

A Clubhouse is a community-based approach to mental health recovery where members and staff work side by side as colleagues. Instead of focusing on a diagnosis, the Clubhouse model focuses on each person's strengths, abilities, goals, and potential.

✨ At Pathway to Hope, members have opportunities to:

🤝 Build friendships and meaningful connections.
💼 Develop job skills and explore employment opportunities.
📚 Pursue education and personal goals.
🌱 Build confidence, independence, and life skills.
💙 Find belonging, purpose, encouragement, and hope.

One of the most important things to understand? People are members, not patients. Members have a voice, contribute to the community, and help shape the Clubhouse. Participation is voluntary, and each person can work toward their goals at their own pace.

Because recovery is about more than managing symptoms. It’s about building a life filled with connection, purpose, opportunity, and possibility.

💙🐾 What a special day for Rye! 🐾💙

Today we celebrated Rye (German Shorthaired Pointer who serves as a critical incident response and emotional support dog for the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department) receive his very own Shadow Buddy — an adorable stuffed animal that can help provide comfort and support to children who may be experiencing difficult or stressful situations. 🧸🐶

This thoughtful gift is more than just a stuffed animal. It’s a comforting friend for kids who may need a little extra reassurance, helping them feel safer and less alone during challenging moments.

We’re so excited for Rye to have this special tool to share with the children he meets. Sometimes, a little comfort, a furry friend, or a soft stuffed buddy can make a big difference. 💙

Chris joins NAMI Northeast Kansas as a National Mental Health Corps (AmeriCorps) Volunteer, bringing a background in business administration alongside years of hands-on experience in client management, outreach, and veterinary healthcare. Over the past three years, Chris has been an active and dedicated volunteer with NAMI Northeast Kansas, serving on the nominating committee to recruit board leadership, coordinating and supporting community and fundraising events like NAMIWalks, and engaging the public as a speaker and resource representative to challenge mental health stigma.

Stepping into this new AmeriCorps role, Chris looks forward to building local capacity, supporting evidence-based mental health initiatives, and expanding community partnerships across Northeast Kansas. Chris is eager to channel this passion for advocacy and community connection into strengthening local resources and helping address the ongoing mental health workforce crisis.
