🇦🇲❤️🇺🇸 From an English classroom to a beautiful friendship.
AMVN volunteer teacher Flora came all the way from the USA to Armenia—and while visiting, she made a special trip to Ijevan to meet her students from the YSUIB.
Flora is an Armenian-American who has chosen to make a difference in the lives of people in Armenia, one lesson and one connection at a time. What began as six months of learning English became something much more meaningful: friendship, laughter, and memories to cherish.
As her students shared:
“Six months ago, we started our English journey with a wonderful volunteer instructor, and now, after finishing the course, we had the most special opportunity to meet in person.
Our instructor came all the way to Armenia and offered to meet us, which truly touched us. What a wonderful experience it was to finally spend time together beyond the lessons!
We walked around, talked a lot, sang even more, pet almost every dog we came across, laughed, and simply enjoyed every moment together.
Six months of learning turned into a beautiful friendship and memories we will always cherish. Thank you for coming to Armenia and making this experience even more special!”
This is what volunteerism is all about: building bridges, creating connections, and making a difference that goes far beyond the classroom. 🌎✨

📖 Aram is a college student from Los Angeles who enjoys connecting with people, learning new things, and using his skills to make a positive impact.
“I joined the Armenian Volunteer Network because I want to give back to the Armenian community by helping students in Armenia strengthen their English skills and become more confident in communicating.”
For Aram, volunteering is a two-way journey—sharing what he knows while learning from his students and gaining meaningful experience along the way. ❤️

🌷 A Parent’s Gratitude for Armenian Volunteer Network’s Free Russian Language ClassesAn AMVN student’s parent recently shared her heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity her child had to participate in free Russian language classesthrough the Armenian Volunteer Network (AMVN): “Dear Kristine, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you for the opportunity you gave us a few months ago to participate in Russian language courses as part of the ‘Armenian Volunteer Network’ program. Thanks to our dear friend Svetlana, we had the opportunity not only to gain new knowledge but also to develop our language skills, which was truly an important and valuable experience for us. Thank you for your support, caring attitude, and for the opportunity you provided us. I greatly appreciate the work you do and the contribution you make to people’s development and education. AMVN Student Parent Review
Living in a foreign country far from home, I gradually realized that my son was losing his commandof his mother tongue. This was deeply painful and heartbreaking for me. I was searching for a solution when I happened to learn about the Armenian Volunteer Network.
We enrolled in the program, and from the very first lesson, I was impressed by Ms. Ani’s professionalism. With genuine dedication and generosity, she took on the important responsibility of teaching my son his native language.
Our teacher is incredibly kind, patient, and highly skilled. She engages my son in every lesson so naturally that we hardly notice how quickly the time passes. He eagerly looks forward to eachnew class with great enthusiasm.
I sincerely thank the organizers of this project for creating such a meaningful initiative, and I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Ani for her dedication, care, and outstanding work.
A special thank you to our incredible volunteer teacher, Ani Aleksanyan, a student at the Yerevan State College of Humanities, whose kindness, dedication, and passion for teaching have made an immeasurable impact onour son’s journey to rediscover his mother tongue andstrengthen his connection to his Armenian heritage.

Գտնվելով օտար ու հեռավոր երկրում՝ զգացի, որ տղաս աստիճանաբար կորցնում է մայրենի լեզվի իմացությունը, և դա ինձ համար մեծ ցավ ու ափսոսանք էր։ Ելք էի փնտրում այս իրավիճակից, երբ պատահաբար տեղեկացա Armenian Volunteer Network-ի մասին։

Կազմակերպեցինք դասընթացը, և արդեն առաջին իսկ դասից հիացած էի ընկեր Անիի պրոֆեսիոնալ մոտեցմամբ։ Նա մեծ նվիրումով և անշահախնդիր ստանձնեց իմ որդուն մայրենի լեզուն սովորեցնելու պատասխանատու գործը։

Մեր ուսուցչուհին զինված է անսահման բարությամբ, համբերությամբ և բարձր մասնագիտական պատրաստվածությամբ։ Նա այնպես է ներգրավում տղայիս դասապրոցեսին, որ անգամ չենք զգում, թե ինչպես է անցնում ժամանակը։ Երեխաս մեծ սիրով և անհամբերությամբ սպասում է յուրաքանչյուր հաջորդ պարապմունքի։

Thank you, Armenian Volunteer Network (AMVN), for giving my daughter, Mary Arakelyan, the opportunity to be part of your free English program over the past year.
Mary has truly enjoyed every class and has been learning English with enthusiasm and confidence. We believe these skills will open many doors for her future and help her achieve her dreams and goals.
