In spite of being totally at war with the “lovebugs” this morning @ Honor Field, Ft Polk(I think they won😂) we had another awesome Rotary sponsored “George C Thompson Memorial Cross Country” Meet 2026!
We were glad to have representatives from each High School & some Jr High Schools except for 1 HS in Vernon Parish!
Shout out to our VP Superintendent, Joey Beltz & the Athletic Director for getting the word out to the Coaches!

We ironically ended up w/ 51 Girls & 51 Boys competing this morning!

We recognized the Top 4 Individual place holders for Boys & Girls & the Top 2 Teams, Boys & Girls who placed 1st & 2nd with overall points!!

We THANK all the support from Coaches, Administration, parents & family who came out to cheer the athletes to the finish line!

Leesville Rotary Club on behalf of our President, Carolyn Teachey thanks all members for their participation & making sure it was another successful Meet!!💙💛💙💛

The Leesville Rotary Club welcomed a special young lady tonight as our guest, the 2025-2026 Leesville Lions Club Rodeo Queen, Julia Chiasson!

She attends FTCA(Faith Training Christian Academy where she is a Sophomore this year!
Julia is very involved at her school & in the community representing well herself & the Lions Club as she’s traveled the State during her year tenure!

We wish her the best for the future as she indicated the Nursing Field may be a college path for her when the time comes!

She unknowingly has been practicing our Rotary Motto, “Service Above Self”!!💙💛

The Leesville Rotary Club welcomed Dr. Geralyn Janice as our guest speaker last night. She represented Lamar Salter campus at SOWELA Technical Community College here in Leesville where she has worn many hats, performed many duties & continues to be a very outspoken advocate for the College & all the opportunities offered at this campus site!!
She rendered us a very informative detailed update on the instructional programs, adult education initiatives, grant funded programs & general education paths available to those who apply & get accepted!

Let us stay informed about opportunities that are right here within our reach & share with others who might benefit from just knowing!
