CSE|Community Foundation Partners with Fort Polk Progress
Lake Charles, LA -

The CSE|Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of CSE Federal Credit Union, is excited to announce a $1,000 donation to Fort Polk Progress. This donation supported a Platinum level sponsorship for the Fort Polk Progress Patriot Walk, an event where hundreds of active-duty military, veterans, and their families will join people from all over Calcasieu, Beauregard, Vernon and Fort Polk gather and participate in a morning of fun.

Fort Polk Progress, formerly Louisiana Armed Forces Alliance, is a regional advocacy organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and enhancing the mission of Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center through partnerships that strengthen military readiness, community resilience, and long-term mission sustainability.

“It is always an honor to create events supporting active-duty military members, veterans and their families in the communities surrounding Fort Polk. That said, we cannot do this alone, and
we are so thankful for great community partners like CSE Federal Credit Union for always supporting these endeavors and the Warrior Spirit.”, said Avon Knowlton, Executive Director of
Fort Polk Progress. “We are thankful to CSE for always willing to stand with us to honor those who serve.”

Colleen Desselle, Executive Director/President of the CSE|Community Foundation, touched on the importance of the sponsorship; “On behalf of the CSE|Community Foundation, I am proud to support Fort Polk Progress and their commitment to our military, veterans, and families. This mission is especially close to my heart because I consider myself a ‘Fort Polk baby,’ as my
parents met while my father was stationed at Fort Polk in Leesville. It means so much to be part of an effort that gives back to those who have sacrificed so much and helps strengthen the
communities they call home.”

Earlier this morning, members of Fort Polk Progress were honored to attend the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk Memorial Day Ceremony.

We proudly joined our military community and others in remembering and honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

MG Jason A. Curl served as the keynote speaker and placed a memorial wreath in remembrance of those fallen soldiers. Part of the ceremony recognized the fallen from Ft Polk and the Gold Star family members, followed by a 21-gun salute, and the playing of Taps- all reminding us of the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our military.

As we recognize the upcoming holiday, we must remember that freedom is not free and thank all who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
