We’re a Kiwanis club working to change the future for children in Leesville and Vernon Parish. Kiwanis exists to help children around the world. Some popular pr

ojects that help kids include installing reading rooms in schools, packing backpacks with school supplies and programs that teach skills or provide safety lessons. The members of this Kiwanis club will look at the needs of children in the community and decide the projects that will benefit local kids.

Yesterday we culminated this school year with a Terrific Kids Celebration at Leesville Municipal Park! Students were able to use the miniature golf vouchers they earned, cool off on the splash pad, and eat pizza!!

Vivian Garcia from Parkway Elementary School and Sebastian McKee from West Leesville Elementary won the bicycles!!

Terrific Kids is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. “Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.

THANK YOU to the City of Leesville for supporting us with the Miniature Golf Vouchers, to Dominoes of Leesville for pizza and parents/grandparents who battled the heat for this event!
