Happy 94th Birthday to White, Donlon, Hagemiester, MOH VFW Post 56 celebrated by ceremonial cutting of the cake by our youngest comrade Danielle Springall and oldest comrade Jack Hammell.

Thank you all for supporting the post in our events. We love having you for bingo and Friday night at the V. Moving forward our hall will be open to attend these events starting at 5 pm. No sooner. We understand that this change may be a little inconvenient initially so we are giving a grace period. This new rule will be in effect starting 5/28/2026.

Please understand this decision was made after discussing concerns with the general membership and was voted on last night.

Again thank you all for your continued grace as we navigate a new system.

Kitchen Manager Wanted.
As the Kitchen Manager, you are responsible for the overall kitchen operations in a Veteran’s Memorial kitchen, attached to a not-for-profit organization. In this leadership position they will be challenged to provide customers with high quality, fresh and tasty foods. While also providing a high level of customer service. Training will be provided on equipment. The right candidate will have a passion for helping Veterans and is able to organize volunteers as needed. Work with senior leadership to aid in policy and procedure update as well as updating the menus as needed. Maintain food handlers and food safety licensing with the State of Kansas. Be willing to assist with all aspects of running a functioning kitchen. Team work is imperative. They will also have a passion for leading and working with Veterans. Have Management and organizational skills. With the ability to provide a monthly report to organizational leadership. They will have effective communications skills both written and oral. As well as be proficient in inventory procedures. Have a high level of attention to detail including managing profit margins and inventory. This is a part time position with 15 to 20 hours a week. Working mainly Wednesday nights and Friday nights when our kitchen is open.
