We'd love to meet YOU!!!

Friday, Sept 4 at 9am, we'll be at Milk and Honey in Camp Springs, MD (not far from Andrews AFB). It will be a fun time of making connections - whether you need a new friend, looking for a prayer partner, or want to connect with ministries, Bible studies, etc in the local area - this is for you. It's just the place to grab some encouragement (and coffee) as you head into the long weekend - and meet other women in uniform and military wives!

Details in the graphic. Look for us inside. We can't wait to meet you!!

**Coffee provided for the first 30 attendees.

"Whether we are leading by example through our actions and the things that we do, whether we’re in the back or in the front, to the left, to the right, whether we’re at home, whether we’re at work, whether we’re in active church ministry, you name it (…) you are leading."
- Erin Nonaka

Erin reminded us during "Embolden" that we serve a God who invites us to follow, and that oftentimes that "following" results in leading ... if we are obedient.

Thankfulness and hospitality are closely tied as they both focus on other people instead of yourself. Sending a thank-you note shows respect and gratitude and you are able to reciprocate their kindness by making them feel seen and valued.

A thank you card or note doesn't need to be lengthy. Here are seven steps to crafting your own.

True strength does not mean carrying the world on your shoulders alone. Biblical strength is built on two powerful pillars: unwavering reliance on God and the uplifting power of community.

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."
~Psalm 28:7

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."
~Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

What worship song or Bible verse do you turn to when you need an immediate reminder of God as your source of strength? 🎶

Sometimes (maybe right now) your heart feels heavy and out of place. You feel invisible, left out - like you do not truly fit in anywhere.

We pray that God meets you in your hurt. We pray he reminds you that your name is known by an almighty God, you were created with a purpose, and he will not abandoning you. We pray God will send you godly friends who will love and encourage you. But while you wait, and when the loneliness feels overwhelming, we pray you are reminded that Jesus also walked this earth unaccepted and he understands your pain.

"God knows our very deepest needs. He wants us to continue to accepting his invitations and following where he wants us to be. Every single time I have accepted a ministry opportunity, I have grown. He gives me a lot more tools, he gives me my knowledge for what he wants me to do, he gives me more dependence on him (which is always what I need). He increases my love for him, and he grows me in some practical ways."
- Jennifer Wake

Jenn joined us earlier this month for our inaugural session of "Embolden" (our virtual training event). Our next "Embolden" event is coming to you this winter - stay tuned for details!

For the one who wants to be hospitable, but is shy - here are some suggestions for you that don't require you to open up your home just yet!

- Showing up at games with a coffee
- Decorating for unit events - just showing up and doing them
- Exploring a new spot together
- Bringing snacks (our favorite tip!)
- Offering to help run errands

Which tip will you try today?

Orders change.
Plans change.
But the God who anchors your soul remains entirely unshakeable.

How many times has the military changed your plans at the last minute? What is your advice to sister who is navigating unexpected changes for the first time?

To the women serving both their country and the King of Kings (both wearing the uniform and supporting the uniform) this is your reminder that your battlefield requires more than standard-issue gear. You are dual-commissioned, wearing the uniform of your nation and the armor of your God. Before you boots (or sneakers) hit the ground, put on your spiritual gear:

Belt of Truth: Knowing God's truth to keep your life honest and secure instead of believing lies.
Breastplate of Righteousness: Guards your heart through demanding military-influenced life..
Shoes of Peace: Steadies your boots on rough terrain so you are able to stand firm and ready to share the good news of peace with others
Shield of Faith: Extinguishes every fiery dart of doubt or fear.
Helmet of Salvation: Protects your mind during long difficult moments.
Sword of the Spirit: The Word of God—your ultimate weapon.

And prayer - always with prayer.

You do not fight for victory; you fight from victory.
Stand firm sister.
