Good morning Leavenworth Community, I know the weather is looking bad for Monday's ceremony. We will still proceed with the current ceremony plans as of now. The only way we will cancel it, is if the weather turns into severe storms with lightning. I will keep everyone informed if anything changes.

Good morning Leavenworth, just wanted to let everyone know that the 138th Leavenworth Memorial Day Ceremony will take place on Monday 27 May at 9am or 0900 for all my military friends at the VA National Cemetery in Leavenworth. We are in need of a local singer to perform the National Anthem if anyone knows someone who would be interested. Please have them contact me.

Good evening friends and family of the LMDC. Today is May 11th, as of now according to VA National Cemetery in accordance with the CDC guidelines we are allowed to have 75 - 80 attendees. Counting the participants and committee members that leaves us with about 40 spots for visitors and guests. I am definitely hoping that we get back to normal next year to include bringing back a military band. Thank you all for your patience during these crazy Covid days.

Good afternoon friends and family of the (LMDC) Leavenworth Memorial Day Committee.I want to clarify some confusion that many have had in regards to Monday's Memorial Day Ceremony.... VA National Headquarters sent out a memo saying all Cemetery's are back to normal operations. That included grave sight visitations as well as burial ceremonies allowing greater than 10 individuals... For our Memorial Day Ceremony it is still 20-25 individuals... please understand it is not our Committee who makes the rules... We have to follow the Cemetery Guidance.

The 2021 ceremony at the Leavenworth National Cemetery has been limited to 20 individuals do to the Covid-19 pandemic. The VA has informed us that all Veterans National Cemetery's will only be allowing 20 individuals at all ceremonies this year.... if I receive any updates I will post them as soon as I receive them. Again I am very sorry.... We will be posting a video of the ceremony on this page. It will also be on Facebook live....

The VA has informed us that all Veterans National Cemetery's will not be allowing ceremonies this year.... if I receive any updates I will post them as soon as I receive them. Friends and family of the Leavenworth community, as of 6 April 20 we are still continuing to plan the Memorial Day Ceremony as a go. The schedule might have to be adjusted do to the Covid-19 situation. I will continue to update this page as the date gets closer.
