Join us for our Grand Reopening on July 4th! We will be opening from 10 am until 5 pm with living history and a preview of three new exhibits, and visitors can see, for the first time in decades, the arch that George Washington passed under on his inaugural march through Trenton. The weather looks great for this Saturday's event!

Come celebrate the birth of David Brearley—American Founding Father and signer of the Constitution—by participating in a fun run (or walk!) on Saturday, June 6th.

This scenic, out-and-back 5K course begins at the Brearley House (built in 1761), and follows the Delaware & Raritan Canal to the Port Mercer Canal House (built in the 1830s).

On May 21st, the Society hosted its annual reception in honor of the high school's award-winning National History Day club.

What an outstanding group of students! Two groups will be representing New Jersey next month at Nationals in Maryland.

Congratulations to club members and club advisor, Priscilla Taylor.

Trustees from the Society (along with a former Junior Historian) worked into the night recently, transporting a new cabinet into the Society's gift shop at the Brearley House.

We had perfect weather for yesterday's inaugural Maidenhead Classic, cosponsored by Lawrence Little League, as the hometown Maidenhead Club played the Flemington Neshanocks in a lively game of 19th century base ball..

Many thanks to Patricia Hendricks Farmer for throwing out the first pitch and serving as manager for the hometown Maidenhead Club.

What can sixty images reveal about three centuries of community life? In 2014 the Lawrence Historical Society installed a timeline mural in the Lawrence Township Municipal Building, tracing 300 years of local history. The mural presents 60 carefully chosen images marking important moments in the township’s story, from the late seventeenth century through the end of the twentieth.

Please join Dennis Waters -- the catalyst behind the mural's construction -- on May 12th as he gives a virtual tour.
