Melissa’s Brigade proudly recognizes and honors all the incredible caregivers who provide love, comfort, strength, and support to their loved ones battling cancer.

Caregivers are the quiet heroes who give so much of themselves each and every day. Your dedication, compassion, and selflessness do not go unnoticed.

Through our “Caring for the Caregiver” program, Melissa’s Brigade is honored to recognize these special individuals with a small gift of gratitude and appreciation.

COMFORTING THOSE WITH CANCER ONE BAG AT A TIME

To date we have delivered 264 comfort care packages
to patients receiving cancer treatment at Capital Health Hopewell, RWJ University Hospital Hamilton, RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick, as well as nominated members of our community.

Melissa’s Brigade was established in loving memory of Melissa McCormack. Our nonprofit organization is dedicated to “Comforting Those Battling Cancer” by providing thoughtfully prepared Comfort Care Packages to patients receiving cancer treatment

In addition, Melissa’s Brigade is honored to recognize the important role of caregivers through our “Caring for the Caregiver” program. A special Caregiver Gift Bag accompanies each recipient’s Comfort Care Package as a heartfelt way to recognize and thank the caregiver for their compassion, strength, and support.

💙 GIRL SCOUT CADETTE TROOP #70282 – HELPING THOSE BATTLING CANCER! 💙

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Girl Scout Cadette Troop #70282 and Troop Leader Isysha for decorating beautiful inspirational scrolls for Melissa’s Brigade during their October troop meeting!

These special scrolls, filled with encouraging words of hope and strength, will be included in our Comfort Care Packages to bring smiles and encouragement to patients battling cancer. 💙

Melissa’s Brigade was established in loving memory of Melissa McCormack. Our nonprofit organization is dedicated to “Comforting Those Battling Cancer” by providing thoughtfully prepared Comfort Care Packages to patients receiving cancer treatment at Capital Health Hopewell, RWJ University Hospital Hamilton, RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick, and nominated members of our community.

Each package includes thoughtful items such as inspirational cards, personal care and comfort items, journals, and, when available, an Apple iPad or Beats headphones.

We are so happy to share our latest Comfort Care Package recipient! We hope this package brings comfort and encouragement during their journey.

We were also honored to provide their caregiver with one of our “Caring for the Caregiver” bags. Caregivers give so much of themselves, and we want them to know that they are seen, appreciated, and cared for, too. 💕

💜 September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 💜

This month, we honor the woman who inspired it all — Melissa McCormack.

Melissa was a beloved friend, Lawrenceville resident, and the inspiration behind Melissa’s Brigade. She bravely battled ovarian cancer and, sadly, lost her battle. Although Melissa is no longer with us, her strength, kindness, and spirit continue to live on through the work we do in her memory.

Melissa faced each day with courage and embraced her motto, “One Day at a Time.” Her journey reminds us of the importance of raising awareness, supporting those battling cancer, and making sure no one feels alone.

This September, we remember Melissa, honor her legacy, and stand beside everyone affected by ovarian cancer. 💜

Her story inspired our mission. Her legacy continues to make a difference.
