Busy and successful weekend for the LHS Jazz Ensemble! Jazz Comcert on Friday and Princeton Jazz Competition Saturday where the group received an Outstanding Rating and our guitarist, Will S., received a Soloist Award!

The Lawrence Music Banquet will be held on Thursday, June 4, in the High School Cafeteria. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the program will start promptly at 6:15 p.m. We cordially invite you, your family, and your student musicians to join us in this celebration.

LTPS has once again earned the Best Communities for Music Education designation from NAMM. 2026 marks the district's 16th time earning this honor!

This award is unique because even though it is awarded to the district, the application process takes into account all facets of what it means to be a community that supports music and music education - not just what students, teachers, and administrators do, but the BOE, parents, civic organizations, community members, businesses, non-profits, and other groups that partner with us to create, support, sustain, and improve the conditions for equitable music education access for all students. That we have earned this distinction - not once, but several times over - affirms and reaffirms our collective, ongoing commitment to this work. Thank you to our students, staff and our entre music-loving community!

THANK YOU!!!! Yesterday was a great day for LHS Music! 16 Jazz ensembles took the stage in competition and one, the finale, our All Director-All Star group performed just for the fun of showing the kids how its done!
So many visitors expressed how nice our show was. How smoothly everything ran. SO proud to say how such amazing hosts our kids were to the other bands/directors and all of our spectators - representing LHS and our Music Department so beautifully.
THANK YOU to all the families who donated items and volunteered to work during the contest. It was a long 10-hour day and you rocked it!
