Last night, I had the honor of attending the County Commission meeting alongside four incredible fellow Peers from the Peer Fellows of Douglas County.
Together, we represented five different organizations, all united by lived experience and a shared passion for Peer Support.
We spoke about the importance of lived experience, collaboration, and strong community support in helping people find hope, connection, and recovery.
It was powerful to stand together and show what can happen when organizations work together for the good of the community.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to represent ALIVE Inc. alongside other dedicated Peer Fellows of Douglas County.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Peer Support services and uplift the voices of those with lived experience.

Recovery Wednesday Recap 💚

Thank you to our guest speaker, LeaHana Hunt, for sharing your inspiring recovery journey with us last week.
Your honesty and strength made a meaningful impact on everyone who attended.

Our Wellness & Self-Management topic focused on recognizing the early warning signs of relapse related to addiction or mental health crises, and the importance of noticing those signs early so support and coping strategies can be put into place.

A special thank you to Jax Project for providing the meal and helping make the morning welcoming and supportive for all.

We are grateful for our Peers, community and everyone who continues to show up, share, learn, and grow together. 🌱

✨️ Board Member Highlight ✨️

Please help us welcome Monique!

Moniqué Mercurio is an Indigenous + Q***r community consultant whose work centers on building relationships that are reciprocal, accountable, and rooted in trust. While often invited into conversations around diversity and inclusion, their work extends beyond representation, focusing on how individuals and organizations can engage across differences in ways that are relational rather than transactional.

Drawing from lived experience and grassroots entrepreneurship, Moniqué has cultivated community networks grounded in care, mutual investment, and long-term connection. Their approach challenges conventional institutional models by reframing entrepreneurship and civic engagement as practices of responsibility to community, not just outcomes or growth.

In alignment with these values, Moniqué serves as a board member for ALIVE INC. contributing to efforts that expand access to essential resources, strengthen community support systems, and ensure individuals and families are met with dignity and care.

Through speaking, consulting, and facilitation, Moniqué supports others in moving from intention into practice, helping build ecosystems where participation is meaningful, relationships are sustained, and communities are not just included, but genuinely valued.

🌱 We are very grateful and excited to have Monique Mercurio as part of our Board! Thank you! 🌱
