It includes textile and mixed-media exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, and an intergenerational healing ceremony. Learn the stories of enslaved Americans Maria Rodgers Martin and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor Lawton and collectively explore the questions, "What is freedom? And who is truly free?" 🧵

Marland Roberts, is an art enthusiast, and multi-medium novice artist. Marland has also mastered the skills of traditional West African, and Afro-Cuban dance, and performance. In addition to her artistic endeavors, Marland is a dedicated percussionist, seamstress, community activist, and a family griot. Her journey, has profoundly shaped her path as an artist.

Kimberly Love Radcliffe, is a fiber, and mixed media artist, who is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her work stands out in the art world, for incorporating vibrant, purposeful narratives into her creations. Radcliffe's style is a celebration of the African diaspora, highlighting the resilience, and triumphs of our people through her art.

Kimberley employs repurposed materials,and complex layering techniques in her quilts. Her unique artistic methods, and thematic focus set her apart in the field of textile arts. Jacqueline Johnson, is a versatile artist. She is skilled in poetry, fiction writing, and fiber arts. Jacqueline, currently residing in Brooklyn, New York.

She has contributed to exhibitions such as:

• "Yours for Race, and Country: Reflections on the Life of Colonel Charles Young" at the National Afro-American Museum.

Johnson's art, and writing are deeply influenced by cultural legacies, and her personal narratives, which are reflected in her quilt "Finding Zora," celebrating Zora Neal Hurston's impact on her own artistic journey.

𝘔𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘕𝘈𝘈𝘘𝘊 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵, 𝘏𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘋. 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 | 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵

Hank Herring, is originally from Rose Hill, North Carolina. Hank operates the Green Herring Art, and Framing Studio in Beaufort, SC. His early exposure to art came through his family, who motivated him to pursue formal art education, alongside a machinist apprenticeship in high school. This empowered Hank, in receiving the Tool, and Die Makers Association Award.

Hank's artistic talents have been ever present, through numerous science fair victories, while utilizing wood, and metal. Throughout his 20-year military career, he gathered artistic insights from different cultures, and craftsmen, which has enriched his work.

Rosa Leff, creates intricate hand-cut paper pieces, emphasizing high-quality craftsmanship. Her work, often cityscapes, is derived from her photography, meticulously cut from a single sheet of paper.

Rosa's artistry shines, in her depiction of complex details such as powerlines, and brickwork, while exploring unconventional materials like paper plates, and towels.
