Jeremy Boone, CGCS, MG published an article with GCSAA's GCM Online about the payoff of First Green events. Springdale Resort now boasts FIVE previous First Green participants whose experience with FG led to their employment at the resort. What an awesome story!

The 5th Annual BGD Empowerment Academy hosted a First Green field trip at Hermann Park Golf Course last week. It looks like it was a fantastic opportunity for students to become more familiar with the fun aspects of day-to-day golf course management! Meet our team! First up is Erin Wolfram. Erin has been GCSAA's Director of First Green and Workforce Development since January of 2026. She leads the First Green program, focusing on outreach, expansion, and overall workforce development—she's the primary contact for FG programming and an excellent resource for any career development as well. Here are some fun facts about Erin:

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? Favorite hobby?
I enjoy reading true crime novels and listening to true crime podcasts. If you have any recommendations, let me know!

What is your favorite book or movie of all time?
Favorite book - In Cold Club
Favorite movie - Shawshank Redemption

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what song would it be?
Fancy by Reba McEntire - I got to see Reba this year at the Grand Ole Opry, and my three outdoor cats all have Reba-related names: Fancy, Georgia, and Mac.

Wow! An incredible group of 79 4th graders from Mercer Island School District 's West Mercer Elementary enjoyed a First Green trip out at Glendale Country Club. What a wonderful group of kids and volunteers.

It looks like Redmond High School's First Green trip at Juniper Golf Course was an absolutely beautiful day. Students brought bird houses built by high schoolers to put up on the course! We love to see students interested in course biodiversity.
