We are so incredibly proud of our Lawrence Blue Santa secretary, Jana Ramsey for graduating with her Master’s degree! 🎓✨

Her hard work, dedication, late nights, and determination have truly paid off. Watching her reach this milestone has been inspiring, and we know this is only the beginning of amazing things ahead of her.

This evening, members of the Blue Santa Board attended the “Heroes off Duty” comedy show in Kansas City to have some laughs and regroup before starting the next Blue Santa fundraiser!

Today we want to recognize Comfort Inn & Suites for stepping up in such a meaningful way. Lawrence Blue Santa needed assistance securing a hotel room but the person needing the room did not have a driver’s license or ID. We contacted several hotels but due to their policy we could not rent a room. Comfort Inn and Suites showed compassion and worked through the situation to make sure the room was secured.
That’s what true hospitality is all about. We love partnering with businesses in the Lawrence Community.

This a great way to find out how the Douglas County Sheriff's Office works.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for Citizen's Academy 2026!
The seven-week academy will begin in April and continue into May.

Classes will be from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday evenings (dinner included) with two sessions on Saturdays, April 18 and May 2, all day (lunch included).

To apply, please fill out the application at tr.ee/DGSOCitizens or on the Citizen’s Academy page (https://dgso.org/index.php/dgso-citizens-academy/ ) at DGSO.org.

Applications will be accepted through Feb. 28, and we will notify people of their acceptance the week of March 9.

💙 A huge THANK YOU to Asbury Construction LLC for partnering with Lawrence Blue Santa!

After receiving a referral from an officer about a single mother whose front door was damaged by a drunken stranger, leaving her home unsecured, Asbury Construction stepped up immediately.
Within hours, the door was repaired and her home was safe again.
