July 4th: Galveston Republican Women Support Adopt‑a‑Cop

The Galveston Republican Women proudly celebrated Independence Day by supporting the Adopt‑a‑Cop program—an initiative founded several years ago by the club’s chaplain. Her dedication has grown this effort into a meaningful tradition of appreciation for Galveston’s law enforcement officers.

Through Adopt‑a‑Cop, community members sponsor an officer with a small monthly gift and, just as importantly, a handwritten note of gratitude. Each message expresses sincere appreciation for the officer’s service, commitment, and daily work to keep Galveston safe.

This July 4th, Galveston Republican Women expanded their support by providing hydration beverages for officers working holiday shifts. Marcy and her team of hardworking volunteers prepared a generous buffet for both day and night crews—fruit cups, muffins, hot dogs, and other grab‑and‑go items that kept officers fueled throughout the holiday.

Their efforts reflected the spirit of the day: community, gratitude, and service. The Adopt‑a‑Cop program continues to be a heartfelt reminder that Galveston stands behind its officers, and the Galveston Republican Women remain committed to supporting those who protect and serve.
