🎉 Today was a day of new beginnings! 🎉

Today, we held orientation and are so proud of each student who took that first step toward reaching their goals. ❤️📚

Whether they’re learning English, working toward their GED, preparing for U.S. Citizenship, strengthening their basic literacy skills, or building computer skills, we’re excited to be part of their journey!

Do you or someone you know want to improve their skills and reach their goals?

We’re here to help! Send us a message or reach out to learn more about our classes.

What a night! We’re sharing some of our favorite moments from the 17th Annual Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee! 💛

From the laughs and friendly competition to the incredible support for adult literacy, we had an unforgettable evening. Thank you to everyone who spelled, sponsored, volunteered, donated, cheered, and helped make the night a success!

Together, we raised over $54,000 to support adult literacy programs in Fort Bend County! 🎉📚

Take a look through the photos, find your favorite memories, and tag yourself and your team! 🐝💛

Who’s ready to BEE back next year? 😉

📚✨ September is Literacy Month! ✨📚

This month, we’re celebrating the power of literacy to open doors, create opportunities, and change lives—one word at a time.

At the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, we help adults build the skills they need to navigate everyday life, pursue their goals, advance their careers, and create brighter futures for themselves and their families.

From ESL and GED preparation to citizenship, basic literacy, and digital skills, every lesson is a step forward. ❤️

With your support, we can continue helping adults in our community learn, grow, and thrive.

What a night! Last night, 10 teams spelled it out through 17 rounds, and we ended the Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee in a two-way tie!

Congratulations to The Ducktionaries from the Exchange Club of Fort Bend and our very own volunteer tutors, the Spellegrinos, who both took home the title!

More photos to come 🐝😊

📚 Didn’t make the spelling bee? You can still make a difference! 💙

Every donation helps provide adults and families in our community with the support, tools, and opportunities they need to reach their goals.

✨ $1,000 equips 8 volunteer tutors with the tools they need to guide and inspire students.

📖 $500 helps expand access to classes for students who are ready to take the next step.

🎓 $150 covers the GED exam fee for one student

$25 can open the door to new opportunities

Right now, more than 400 students are being served, and every gift—no matter the size—helps us reach even more adults and families in our community.

Together, we can help learners build confidence, achieve their goals, and create brighter futures. ❤️
