U = U. Undetectable = Untransmittable.

Antiretroviral therapy (ART) reduces the amount of HIV in the body, leading to an undetectable viral load. People living with HIV who achieve and maintain an undetectable viral load through consistent ART cannot s*xually transmit the virus to others.

This is one of the most important developments in HIV care in decades, and it's still not as widely known as it should be. Spreading this message reduces stigma, encourages treatment, and saves lives.

The South continues to experience the greatest burden in the United States. Strengthening access to HIV prevention, testing, and care in Southern communities remains critical to ending the HIV epidemic nationwide.
