COMMENTING POLICY AS OF 1/16/2017 (Subject to change at any time):

The purpose of this page is to share climate news, events, and information. The comments threads are to allow notification and correction of errors in the posts and for questions and civil discussion about the posts. We will not tolerate comments asserting climate myths or sharing misinformation - our goal is to advance s

olutions to climate change, and so debating the well-documented science and widely debunked climate myths is a distraction from that work. Comments that are not kept on-topic may be deleted at the discretion of the page moderator. We have a zero-tolerance approach to trolling, name-calling, personal attacks, profanity, inflammatory tone, and other uncivil behavior. We do not allow spamming or the soliciting of business on this page. Comments that violate this policy may be deleted and your commenting privileges may be blocked at the sole discretion of the page moderator. As a general rule of thumb, be courteous and respectful toward other users. If we all followed these guidelines in any discussion, perhaps the world would be a calmer and more constructive place.

Please register to give written or public comments during the NPDES Draft Permit Public Hearing on Thurs. June 18 (TONIGHT) at 6 p.m. EST.

We need EVERYONE to register and attend the meeting even if you don’t give public comment!

The State of Michigan is taking public comments on a key water discharge permit for Enbridge’s proposed Line 5 oil tunnel now through June 30. Enbridge is requesting a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit, which violates our Great Lakes laws.

If this permit passes, 6 million gallons of wastewater can be dumped into Lake MI every day for an entire year. 🤢

Learn more and register at the link in the Oil & Water Don't Mix bio.

In 2025, the Trump Administration disbanded the White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council (WHEJAC), attempting to silence thousands of comments, grassroots solutions, and testimonies from communities across the nation.

In response, community leaders formed the People's Environmental Justice Advisory Council and launched a national listening tour. Now, they're coming to Detroit. Meet the moment and register today to attend.
