Happy National Eagle Scout Day! 🦅💙🇺🇸
Today we’re celebrating our very own Eagle Scout, Christopher.
Almost a year has passed since he earned Scouting’s highest rank, and I still get emotional every time he puts on his uniform. It’s like watching a superhero step into his purpose.
As the founder of Candy’s Cause, I often talk about creating opportunities where all children can thrive—including neurodiverse youth. Christopher’s journey reminds me why that work matters.
As a young man with ADHD, Scouting wasn’t always easy. Organization, focus, time management, and executive functioning can all present unique challenges. There were moments when he had to work harder than many of his peers, but he never let those challenges define what he was capable of achieving.
Instead, Scouting helped him discover his strengths. It gave him mentors who believed in him, opportunities to lead, confidence to grow, and a place where service became part of who he is. Along the way, he learned resilience, responsibility, and that different doesn’t mean less—it simply means finding your own path.
This past year as an Eagle Scout has brought incredible opportunities, and my prayer is that he continues to use his gifts to serve God, his community, and others with humility and compassion.
To every parent raising a neurodiverse child: don’t let anyone place limits on your child’s potential. With encouragement, the right supports, and people who believe in them, our children can soar higher than we ever imagined.
Congratulations, Christopher. Keep using your Eagle wings to lift others. The world needs leaders like you.
Happy National Eagle Scout Day! 🦅💙
