Our biggest plant giveaway yet! 🌱 Featuring some of our favorite faces from Maryland Day 2026! We gave away 500 free native plants, including swamp milkweed, cardinal flower, and more to support local biodiversity and pollinators. We're excited to partner with Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay Chapter on several events this April. Check them out and consider volunteering!

Wild Ones Chesapeake Bay needs your help! We are a 100% volunteer run organization based in Southern Maryland. There are several ways for volunteers to get involved in our vision of native plants and natural landscapes thriving in every community.

Our chapter event calendar is full of exciting events for April (National Native Plant Month) and May (Maryland Native Plant Month). We are seeking volunteers for our outreach events and our garden workdays. Or perhaps you'd like to assist in other ways.

Sign up is open. Check back often, as opportunities are being added as they become available.

We’re so excited to welcome Andrew Heffner to the team as our Outreach Coordinator! 🎉

Andrew is a native plant advocate and emerging leader in community-based restoration with a passion for reimaging American landscapes. As a student at the University of Maryland, Andrew’s work focuses on educating and engaging students with native plants to not only promote sustainability on campus, but to rekindle people’s connection to and respect for nature. Andrew has led projects ranging from garden installations to native plant research, always with an emphasis on community engagement and stewardship. He envisions a future where people view their landscape not as sterile decoration, but as a living extension of themselves and their ecosystem. Andrew’s ultimate goal is to foster communities where ecological stewardship is accessible, sustainable, and joyful.
