October has been a BUSY month for Knox Makers!

The fun kicked off with our Adopt-A-Ghost booth and killer KM spider at First FRIGHTday in the Old City, and a member-led yarn spinning demo at a Tuesday night meeting. Then came the annual Knox Makers Fall Market, featuring a TON of cool local craft vendors and the return of our KILLSWITCH robot combat tournament!

We also repped the maker space at Scruffy Roots Fest just up the road at Kern's Bakery, then wrapped up the month's festivities with some good old fashioned pumpking carving! All this, plus tons of other classes, workshops and maker events held in our space – if you want to learn more and catch an event for yourself, head to knoxmakers.org

NEW CLASS – Painting for Beginners!

For the first time, Knox Makers is holding a multi-session skill-building class for beginning painters. Learn to paint by seeing the world as shapes, color, light, and shadow rather than outlines and pencil marks.

Students will learn color and brushwork techniques with acrylic paint that can be applied to other painting mediums, like oil, gouache, and watercolor. You'll get hands-on practice with simple objects and 3D shapes before moving on to more complex subjects and techniques.

The four sessions will be held on Saturdays from 4:30-7:30 p.m. – July 18, July 25, Aug. 1, and Aug. 8. Tickets include all four sessions – no partial refunds for missed classes. Total price is $240 for general public, $140 for Knox Makers members. Class capped at 15 participants.
