Meet our Founder and Executive Director, Denetria Moore! If you've ever met Dee Dee, you know she leads with passion, purpose, and a fearless spirit.

When asked about the best part of working at Girl Talk, Dee Dee shared: "I get to wake up and do what I love with people I love!"

And why did she choose to work at Girl Talk? "Because I created it!" 🤣

Beyond her leadership, Dee Dee is always making sure our team stays connected. Her first text of the day is often, "Where are we going for lunch?!"

Twenty years ago, Dee Dee turned a vision into a movement that has empowered hundreds of girls across our community. Her heart for mentoring, advocacy, and creating opportunities for girls continues to inspire everyone around her.

In observance of Juneteenth, Girl Talk offices will be closed on Friday, June 19.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and serves as a time to reflect, celebrate freedom, and honor Black history, culture, and resilience.

Meet Maya, our Program Director!

Maya leads Girl Talk's programs with heart, purpose, and a whole lot of fun. Her passion for empowering girls shines through in everything she does.

When asked about her favorite part of working at Girl Talk, Maya shared: "The people and the impact."

Maya chose to work at Girl Talk because, after her very first interview, she knew she had found where she belonged. Today, she helps create meaningful experiences that empower girls to discover their strengths, build confidence, and dream big.

As the Team Lead for Girl Talk's 1:1 Mentoring Program, Dacia works directly with our middle school girls, helping them build confidence, discover their strengths, and navigate life's challenges with support and encouragement. Dacia brings joy, positivity, and plenty of fun to the Girl Talk team every day.

Her favorite part about working at Girl Talk? "Getting to do fun girly stuff all the time!"

As a true girl's girl, Dacia is passionate about helping women and girls recognize their worth, embrace their strengths, and believe in all they can achieve. That's what inspired her to join the Girl Talk mission.

💜 Become a Girl Talk School & Site-Based Mentor! 💜

We’re looking for caring adults to help empower girls during the 2026–2027 school year.

If you can give just one hour a week for 10 weeks each semester, you can provide the love, encouragement, guidance, and support that girls need to thrive.

As a mentor, you'll co-lead a group using Girl Talk’s structured curriculum designed to build self-esteem, teach healthy coping skills, and create a positive community. We provide all training, materials, and supplies; you bring your heart for helping girls succeed.

✔️ Must be 19+ years old
✔️ Available one hour weekly between 3:00 and 5:30 p.m.
✔️ Commit to one school year
✔️ Complete mentor training and a background check (provided by Girl Talk)
