A new school year is about both fresh starts and a return to doing what you love, like playing basketball.
Jack is a college student athlete who underwent major knee surgery, and because of a donor’s selfless gift, he is now looking forward to the day he gets back on the court. He says the journey hasn't been easy, but this second chance means more to him than he can put into words.
This back-to-school season, remember that behind every second chance is someone who made it possible, and if you haven't registered as a donor, consider making that difference for someone like Jack.

To help kick off our Solving Hunger Campaign, Solvita employees recently volunteered their time at The Foodbank, Inc. in Dayton, both in their warehouse and garden. The garden team tackled cleaning of compost bins, bagging compost, trimming plants, and harvesting potatoes, carrots, and lettuce. The warehouse team inspected items for integrity, clear labeling, and expiration dates before sorting them into food groups. The warehouse team also wrote encouraging notes for the Good To Go kids’ backpack program.
Solvita employees make a difference every day by transforming the gift of tissue donation and helping improve and save lives. Through our partnership with The Foodbank, we have another opportunity to extend that impact by helping to eliminate hunger in our communities.
