This is an enormous loss to our region. Bob was a kind, dedicated, faithful soul who leaves an enormous legacy of conservation for the common good. Rest well good and faithful servant. Prayers for Bev and their family, who were constant sources of joy to Bob.

October 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the Bro. Don Geiger, SM, Eastern Tallgrass Prairie at Mount St. John—a milestone honoring four decades of conservation and community inspiration. To celebrate this legacy with the Marianist Environmental Education Center (MEEC), NACMS is offering Bro. Don Geiger’s book, "Landscape: The History of Mount St. John," for just $5.00 throughout October. Written from his firsthand perspective as a plant biologist, Bro. Don charts how this sacred space adapted to shifting apostolic needs and became protected land.

On Saturday, our monthly Wild Church Group was joined by members of the Dayton Friends Meeting - Quakers for the first biennial Quaker EarthCare Witness Day of Action. After the Wild Church service, we shared a potluck and collected grass seed from the Bro. Don Geiger, SM prairie. The seed will be cleaned and used in our restoration work. Thank you to Deaconess Beth, Allen and everyone who made Saturday and joyful experience! Our next Wild Church gathering will be October 25. Visit https://meec.center for details.
