Bergamo Center was founded in 1967 by the Society of Mary (Marianists) religious order. Originally established as primarily a retreat house, Bergamo grew over the years to become a full-service retreat and conference center. Last week, we were honored to welcome Callings at UD to Bergamo! 💙❤️

Callings is an early arrival program for first-year students at the University of Dayton, rooted in the Marianist charism. During this six-day experience, students explored their faith and vocation while embracing four key principles: Learn. Lead. Serve. Pray.

We were grateful to provide a welcoming space where these students could begin their UD journey, deepen their faith, build community, and reflect on their callings.

We just wrapped up our third and final summer training session for the class of 2027 to become retreat leaders here at Bergamo Center!
This year we trained a total of 36 new facilitators to join our junior retreat program and share their faith and leadership with the high school students that come here for our programs.
This brings our volunteer staff for retreats just under 100. The spirit is moving our young people to leadership and we are so excited to embrace it.

We had the blessing of a very small, but mighty group of Seton Saints over the last two days for an amazing junior retreat this summer!
God has blessed us with these lovely ladies many times this summer and look forward to more retreats with them over this school year!🙏💚

Today we’re saying goodbye to 2 of our most active facilitators as they make their journey beyond Bergamo.
Maddy Hensler (UC) and Madison Yeazell (UC) both Seton Grads have been actively involved with Bergamo for the better part of five years!
They’re both moving off to their masters programs and we at Bergamo wish them the best luck and thank them for all of the service they gave us over the past 5 years!🙏❤️🌹

This weekend, Bergamo hosted the students and campus ministers who participated in the University of Dayton Summer Appalachia Program (UDSAP). Students stayed at Bergamo for a closing retreat where they gathered to pray and process the past 8 weeks of volunteering at a day camp, teen center, and nursing home in Salyersville, KY. We hope their experience here was fruitful, and we wish them the best on the upcoming school year! University of Dayton Campus Ministry
