The Kennett Square Farmers Market is collecting donations for KACS! Purchase fresh + local goods at the market and place them in the designated green donations bins or bring non-perishable goods to the KACS table. Our friends at KACS worked hard this afternoon creating stick ponies for Sunday's Spooktacular Stick Pony Races - and it looks like the stick ponies are TOTALLY READY for you! Plotting, perhaps. But ready!

Bring your Halloween costume on Sunday November 1 and race down the stretch! Tickets at PAHuntCup.org. We to benefit the Chester County Food Bank.

KACS Shout-Out to Bryn Clovis Farm!

A huge thank you to Bryn Clovis Farm for donating an incredible 575 pounds of freshly picked peppers to the KACS Food Cupboard!

Fresh produce helps families access the nutritious ingredients they need to prepare healthy meals at home. This generous donation means more local households can enjoy fresh vegetables while stretching their grocery budgets to cover other essential expenses.

When local farms share the bounty of their harvest, the impact reaches far beyond the fields. Donations like this strengthen our local food system, reduce barriers to nutritious food, and help ensure our neighbors have access to the ingredients that make a meal both healthy and satisfying.

Building Understanding. Strengthening Community.

Last week, the Chesco Alliance on Economic Insecurity hosted a Poverty Simulation, bringing community members together to experience some of the difficult decisions and daily challenges faced by individuals and families living with limited financial resources.

The experience offered a sobering look at how quickly financial hardship can escalate. When resources are stretched thin, one unexpected expense or missed paycheck can set off a chain of events that leads to housing instability, legal challenges, and other hardships.

At KACS, we believe that building understanding is an important step toward creating meaningful change. By seeing challenges from a different perspective, we can strengthen our compassion, challenge assumptions, and work together to build a community where every neighbor has the opportunity to achieve stability.

Thank you to the Chesco Alliance on Economic Insecurity and everyone who participated in this meaningful experience and continues working toward a stronger Chester County for all.

A heartfelt thank you to AHHAH Arts Holding Hands and Hearts, Inc. and Baily's Dairy of Pocopson Meadow Farm for hosting such a wonderful event and bringing our community together!

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing team of volunteers from Chatham Financial! This dedicated group packed and donated 800 pounds of rice and beans to support our KACS Food Cupboard.

Rice and beans are essential pantry staples that are always in high demand and can be challenging to keep stocked on our shelves. Thanks to Chatham Financial’s generosity and hands-on support, more local families will have access to these nutritious essentials.
