What a beautiful evening at The Acadian Wine Company for Happy Hour last week! Wonderful spread of food, lots of laughs, and great wine! Join us for the next KSANC Happy Hour at The Barrel in Avondale on Thursday 6/25 at 4pm and in July at Casa Carmen Farm and Winery in West Grove on Wednesday 7/29 at 5pm. There are many activities ongoing through the summer months so check our calendar and enjoy some great times with our Club “neighbors.”

Our final luncheon of the club year was held yesterday at the beautiful Marshallton Steakhouse, where members enjoyed a delicious buffet in a lovely setting filled with fellowship and celebration.

During the luncheon, our current president recognized and thanked the outgoing board members and committee leaders for their dedication and service throughout the 2025–2026 year, a special year marked by our newly revised name, the Kennett Square Area “Neighbors” Club.

We also warmly welcomed our newly installed Executive Board, and our incoming president introduced the committee leaders who will help guide the club in the coming year.

Highlights of the afternoon included the presentation of the 2025–2026 yearbook and a special gift to our outgoing president in appreciation of her leadership and commitment. Also on display were two beautiful housewarming baskets created for a new Habitat for Humanity homeowner, part of our ongoing commitment to community service.

What a beautiful spring day of fellowship, friendship, and fun at Lite Lunch at Landenberg United Methodist Church. We were especially honored to enjoy a wonderful presentation from our own Kanako Fujinawa before she sadly returns to her homeland of Japan this summer.

Kanako shared so much of her culture and traditions with us, including the Japanese language, traditional crafts, local foods, and customs of everyday life in Japan. Her presentation was both fascinating and heartfelt, and everyone truly enjoyed learning from her experiences and heritage.

Kanako has become such a cherished part of many KSANC activities and gatherings over the years. Her kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all of us. We are so grateful for the time we have shared together and wish her all the best as she begins this next chapter back home in Japan.

What a beautiful day of celebration, connection, and community!

The Kennett Square Area Newcomers Club gathered at Hartefeld National in Avondale for a truly special Spring Luncheon, one that felt like stepping back in time while celebrating together in the present.

Dressed in our finest red, white, and blue, we honored America’s 250th birthday with an unforgettable program. The room was filled with the elegant sounds of harpist Janet Witman, the powerful and moving reading of the Declaration of Independence by our own Diane Pazdalski (a 6th great granddaughter of John Morton!), and a captivating portrayal of Betsy Ross by Alisa Dupuy of The Ladies of History, who brought her story to life with warmth and insight.

Adding to the charm, our very own club members took part as a Colonial Fife & Drum trio, such a fun and spirited touch!

The event also featured 12 wonderful vendors, 27 beautifully curated raffle baskets (I had the pleasure of helping on the raffle team!), and 5 silent auction items that added excitement throughout the afternoon.

Most of all, it was a day filled with fellowship, laughter, and gratitude. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and generosity to make this year’s Spring Event such a success. It truly was a grand celebration of community and history.

Happy Spring from KSANC!

There’s no shortage of ways to stay active, connected, and inspired this season. From friendly games of Mahjong and Bridge to relaxing Chick Flick gatherings, plus the energy and ideas shared at our monthly board meetings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:
• May 1 – Coffee & Conversation at 10:00 a.m. at Sally Baskin’s home
• May 20 – Luncheon and New Board Installation at The Marshallton Steakhouse and Seafood (reservations due by Tuesday, May 12)
• May 28 – Happy Hour at The Acadian Wine Company at 5:00 p.m.

A beautiful spring day brought 23 of us together for our May Lite Lunch at the fellowship hall of Landenberg United Methodist Church.

We were especially honored to hear from our own Carole Murone, who shared her powerful journey as a kidney transplant recipient through the Gift of Life Donor Program. Her story was both moving and inspiring, a reminder of how life-changing the gift of organ and tissue donation can be. Carole continues to be a passionate advocate, helping others understand the profound impact of this lifesaving gift.

Moments like these are what make our community so special, supporting one another, sharing our stories, and growing together through the many activities at KSANC.

We’re looking forward to seeing many of you at our exciting Spring Event on April 22!

Last night, we gathered for a lovely Ladies’ Night at Sovana Bistro, and it could not have been a more enjoyable evening.

From the delicious food to the warm, welcoming atmosphere, it was the perfect setting to relax, connect, and share conversation. Even more special was the opportunity to meet new faces and continue building friendships within our community.

We celebrated a little “Luck of the Irish” at our March luncheon at Tyler’s Bar and Grill in Wilmington. Our guest speaker, Margo McDonough of Blue Skies Travel, shared practical packing tips to help make our next adventures a little easier and more enjoyable.

Mark your calendar and plan to join us for our annual Spring fundraising event on Wednesday, April 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hartefeld National Country Club in Avondale, PA. The day will feature a special historical reenactment, “Betsy Ross: Upholsterer, Flag Maker and Patriot,” along with specialty vendors, basket raffles, a silent auction, and time together in good company. Guests are invited to wear red, white, and blue.
