The Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission joins all of Kansas City in sadness this morning as we mourn the passing of Carl DiCapo. Carl invested his life work promoting and supporting all things Kansas City and earned a civic resume unmatched. He served as both a Board member and Chairman of the Board for the Crime Commission for more than three decades – and was incredibly proud to display his “badge”. Carl will be missed by the many organizations and people he touched – but leaves a legacy that deserves appreciation and recognition.

15 years ago today, Kansas City Kansas Fire Department- KCKFD, Fireman Michael Tluscik lost his life in the line of duty. Mike had a witty sense of humor‚ his daily crossword puzzles, and not to mention a mean game of ping pong. Mike loved to spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks and was an amazing cook. He was also a skilled carpenter. Mike saved many lives and has continued to give the gift of life after his death by being an organ donor for the Midwest Transplant Network.

2 years ago today, Kansas City Missouri Fire Department (KCFD), Captain Robert Rocha lost his life in the line of duty. Robert impacted lives on and off duty. He would visit patients he took to the hospital because of his love of people, true love. He was a great friend and had literally thousands of friends across the country. His friends would sacrifice themselves for Bobby because they knew, they know, that he would do the same. No cost was too great.
