Community Missions At Community Missions we believe everyone deserves safety, dignity, and hope. We offer hope, stability, and a path forward.

As a nonprofit organization rooted in compassion and community, we serve individuals experiencing homelessnes, and crisis. Because everyone deserves a home, we strive to permanently eliminate homelessness for disabled and chronically homeless men by providing shelter and housing along with services to support transition.

💜 International Overdose Awareness Day — August 31

Today, we remember the lives lost to overdose, stand beside the families and friends who carry that loss, and support those who are still fighting.

Overdose can affect anyone, any family, and any community. Awareness matters. Compassion matters. Access to treatment and support matters. And most importantly, every life matters.

We can reduce stigma by talking openly about substance use, supporting recovery, recognizing the signs of an overdose, and making sure people know that help is available.

Today we remember those we have lost, support those still struggling, and celebrate those living in recovery.

💜 Remember. Support. Prevent.
Together, we can save lives.

❤️ Building Community From the Inside Out ❤️

We recently started a Welcome Committee to help new guests feel comfortable, learn the ropes, and acclimate when they first arrive at Community Missions.

And these guys are exactly who we want leading the way.

They are working, volunteering, helping around the shelter, giving back, and choosing every day to be productive members of our community. Now, they’re taking it one step further by helping the next person who walks through our doors feel welcomed and supported.

These are the individuals setting the example. They understand what it feels like to walk through those doors for the first time, and they’re using their own experiences to make that transition a little easier for someone else.

We see the progress. We see the hard work. We see the leadership.

And we are incredibly proud of these guys. ❤️

This is what community looks like—people helping people move forward.

Today’s group at Community Missions focused on Overdose Awareness 💜

Participants learned how to recognize the signs of an overdose and how to properly use Narcan (naloxone) knowledge that can truly save a life.

We also took time to remember those we’ve lost to overdose. Each person decorated a ribbon in memory of someone whose life was impacted or lost, creating a meaningful tribute and a reminder of why awareness, education, and compassion matter.

Every life matters. Every story matters. And sometimes, knowing what to do can make all the difference. 💜

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness mean the most. ❤️

One of our Community Missions employees has been going through some health issues, and today our shelter guests wanted to make sure they knew just how much they are cared about. Several guests took the time to make handmade cards filled with encouraging words, well wishes, and lots of heart.

Our staff spend every day caring for and supporting the people who come through our doors, but moments like this remind us that care and compassion go both ways.

We are incredibly proud of our shelter community for showing kindness when someone needed it most. These cards may seem like a simple gesture, but they carry a very big message: You are cared for, you are appreciated, and we are thinking of you.❤️

🧹 Community Missions Four-Block Cleanup!🧤

Our Community Missions team was out in the community completing a four-block cleanup, working together to help make our neighborhood cleaner and safer for everyone.

These cleanups are about more than picking up trash—they’re about taking pride in our community, giving back, and making a visible difference one block at a time.**

A huge thank you to everyone who helped put in the work today! 💙
