Throw back to the morning of the 2026 App Challenge in Billings! Look at that room absolutely full of students, parents and volunteers behind Kathy, Callen and Darian!

We were so thrilled with the turn out and grateful to have a community that continues to shows up for our girls!

Shout out to one of our favs, Ms. Darian Shackelford! She is sorely missed, but we are grateful to have Callen who stepped into her position with passion and incredible skill.

We are less than TWO weeks away from our first camp of the summer and we still have OPEN SPOTS! Get your girls entering 4th - 6th grade signed up for our Groovy Unicorns Camp in Billings today. This camp takes students through designing and developing an app during a 4-day half-day camp. We will be hosting this camp June 8th - 11th from 1pm - 4pm. This is a FREE camp being hosted at Wise Wonders.

Our Girls on the Run Groovy Unicorn Summer Camp is live for sign ups! This camp is in partnership with Girls on the Run to combine technology and movement for an engaging summer experience. Campers will spend the morning with Code Girls United participating in our Coding Groovy Unicorns camp building an app, followed by an afternoon with Girls on the Run activities focused on confidence, teamwork and fun.

When the presentations are completed and months of preparation jitters are released- it gets a bit wacky and definitely fun for Code Girls!

This behind-the-scenes clip from Kalispell gives a glimpse into what goes on while waiting for finals and winners announcements. We have amazing volunteers, teachers, staff and interns around the state that take care of our young ladies. It takes a village to keep our competition safe, fun and an irreplaceable learning experience each year and what a village we have! 🥰

We are grateful for our partnership with STARBASE Montana in Helena and Great Falls! Congratulations again to these teams of amazing young ladies and thank you to the staff that bring our curriculum to life in your schools!

Last Saturday, our Advanced Code Girls United teams from Helena and Great Falls competed in CGU’s annual statewide App Challenge, and they crushed it. Three of our teams earned scholarship awards, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, creativity, and determination.

Once again, Whitefish Community Foundation is standing behind Code Girls United with not only financial support but in enabling us to further our programming in the Flathead Valley!

This Community Grant is specifically for our 'Code Girls Leadership Academy' which will be launching in the fall! This class will be for students eager to strengthen their skills in public speaking, interpersonal communication, navigating difficult conversations, career readiness and much more! The class will complete a community project together and each student will be partnered with a mentor! We can't wait to launch the first class! We are so grateful to Whitefish Community Foundation for making it possible!
