Humane Society of Northwest Montana Our Humane Society is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit no-kill animal shelter that does not receive any city, county, state or federal funding.

We are sustained solely by the generosity of individual donors, local businesses and our wider community. HSNWMT is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides a caring & safe environment for dogs and cats until they can be united with a forever home. Our Adoption Center is a no-kill, limited admission animal welfare facility. Therefore, all dog & cat intakes and pet adoptions are scheduled by appointment.

Sometimes, the biggest difference you can make for a shelter pet is simply giving them a place to land.

Fostering gives a local pet the chance to step away from shelter life and experience the comfort of a home. Your time, patience, and care can help them gain confidence, receive the support they need, and get ready for their next chapter.

You provide the home, love, and daily care. We provide the supplies, guidance, and support you need along the way.

Fosters must be 18+. Children are welcome to be part of the experience with adult supervision.
