Upcoming Dates and a reminder for the April Weigh-In!

4-H Exhibitors please attend the Friday or Saturday weigh-in at the Fairgrounds. We encourage cattle to be haltered and manageable.

With muddy weather, please be mindful of mud. Cattle health can drastically change for the worse in multiple manners.

"Research has shown that mud up to eight inches deep will decrease feed intake up to 15% while mud up to ten inches can decrease intake by as much as 30%. This results in reduced gains, lower milk production, and an overall decrease in animal performance."

Sounds like a lot of mud? Perhaps, but this doesnt address the issue of mud also STUCK to your animals' hide and hair. Try your best to keep these guys clean before it becomes a buildup.
An excellent article from PSU and studies in livestock health.
