To our Maui Community before the night ends:
As President of Aloha Maui Pride, I just want to take a moment and say MAHALO NUI to everyone who showed up, supported, donated, volunteered, performed, celebrated, and helped make this weekend so special.
What an AMAZING weekend for Aloha Maui Pride!
From our Halloween Glow Party Fundraiser at Da Playground Maui, to our Pride Breakfast at Naluβs South Shore Grill, and our sold-out History of Drag at ProArts Playhouse β our community truly showed up this weekend.
This is what community should look like. Not just once a year during Pride Month, but throughout the entire year.
We gather. We laugh. We socialize. We support one another. We show up for each other. Most importantly, we stay visible so the next person does not have to be afraid of simply being who they are.
Whether you are LGBTQIA+, q***r, MVPFAFF+, Third Gender Indigenous Pacific Islander, or simply someone who believes everyone deserves a place to belong β there is space for you in this community.
I especially want to thank the businesses and venues who opened their doors to us this weekend:
Da Playground Maui
Nalus South Shore Grill
ProArts on Maui
Special Thanks to the entertainment and awesome decorations at the Glow Party:
ManCandy Productions Maui
Doll Dynasty
Mike Check 1, 2
DJ Playwfireono
Mahalo nui for supporting Aloha Maui Pride and our community.
And I absolutely cannot forget ALL of our volunteers who committed their time this weekend.
To every person who helped set up, break down, greet people, check people in, sell tickets, support our performers, help our committees, clean up, organize, promote the events, and jump in wherever something needed to get done β MAHALO!
Some of the work people never see, but I see you.
I also want to recognize my Aloha Maui Pride team. Yes, sometimes we fight. π We bicker. We disagree. We challenge one another. But we also love deeply, and we all want this organization and our community to succeed.
When you look at what happened this weekend, you can see that all of those conversations, meetings, decisions, strategies, late-night messages, planning, and hard work are starting to show.

And we are still building!
I am loving the support, the energy, and seeing our community come together again.
Let us continue creating a Maui where our LGBTQIA+ and MVPFAFF+ Κ»ohana can feel safe, celebrated, respected, visible, and most importantly β welcomed.
This weekend showed what is possible when our community comes together.
