Dr. Bridget Bongaard is one of 31 recipients of the County of Maui 2023 Volunteer Heroes. Dr. Bongaard conducts all the medical consultations for cancer patients at Maui Cancer Resources as she helps people from all over the island navigate the journey from diagnosis to survival or end of life. She even called a patient from Rome while on vacation just to help them through their journey. She is a dedicated and compassionate volunteer.

Stress reduction is a very important part of developing resilience and hardiness when life gets tough, and having community to share deeply is critical to healing.
