We’d like to give a huge shout out to this group of campers, from last weekend, not only did they appear to have a lot of fun and learn skills, they also left the camp as good, if not better, than they found it!!! Thanks Cornerstone, it was noticed!!!

This week the pond has started it’s new chapter. The dam was opened up and water has started to drain. This might need to be done a couple times, plus the concrete core samples need to be brought together, near gate. Call Camp Childress, if you have a free afternoon.

Camp Childress would like some help to drain the Trout Pond.
We need to take apart the old dam to get the pond drained , so when it drys out we can clean the silt out of it. Any Scout units interested in good clean service time?

Camp Childress wants your visit, at camp, to be smooth. 🛣️😊

Double Down Asphalt Services did their magic on our west entrance to camp. Water control, nice appearance and smooth drive were the goal! Goal met!!! Improvements, such as this, are made available through the generosity of donations. Thanks to past, current and future donors. ❤️

Shooting range berm is growing up and longer. Today we got 50 tons of old asphalt to add to the berm.

New asphalt will be laid down tomorrow at Camp Childress by the Ranger’s house. If coming to Childress enter by the east entrance.

Meet Justin & Shaina! 🌲

We’re excited to introduce Justin and Shaina, the new hosts and caretakers of Camp Childress!

With a family of four kids, ages 2–12, we know firsthand how important it is for kids to have places where they can explore, grow, make memories, and be part of a community. That’s one of the things that drew us to Camp Childress and its mission of investing in youth programs and serving the community.

We’re looking forward to building on the great things already happening at camp while finding new ways to improve, expand, and make the most of this special place. Most of all, we’re excited to welcome groups, families, campers, and visitors to campus and help make their time here a great experience.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Camp Childress community and can’t wait to see what the future holds! 🌲❤️
