The power of helping others. Donations has come in to help save another Old Building at Camp Childress.
This is the “Old Pool House “ , the roof was deteriorating and leaking, Ridgeline roofing came in and spray coated it.
How many people remember going through this building to get to the swimming pool?
How many people remember that the water was piped out of the spring at 52 degrees every day to keep it filled?
Thanks to all the donations that has come in.
By the way, one of the gentlemen that worked on this project last week, was here over 50 years ago and swam in that pool.

We are excited to have an Eagle project started, which will help to keep campers aware of fire conditions! Keep an eye out for pics of it’s progress, but especially for the info it will convey!

Have you noticed that crunch while walking in your yard yet?

The summer heat is affecting vegetation, increasing the risk of wildland fires. While some scattered showers have occurred, they are insufficient to keep grass healthy and green.

As we monitor conditions, we will begin posting Wildland Fire Conditions when necessary.

At camp, the cycle of volunteerism is seen on a regular basis, especially on Mondays! We are so grateful!! Samples from yesterday: a Dad and his three kids went all around camp picking up sticks for the mowers, mower came in the afternoon, power spraying of caretaker home, baseboard placement in caretaker home (post painting), checking out of renters (local youth group) and prepping for new renter (college athletic group), pool maintenance, leaf blowing, weedeating, moving of refrigerators… wow! The facility is always cycling between volunteers and the community and then back! So many benefits for both!!! ❤️

Had some unexpected visitors show up on camp last weekend. Maybe they thought the pool looked inviting on a hot day, we couldn’t argue that! 🤣
