We're excited to introduce another member of our Board of Directors! Each board member brings unique experiences, talents, and perspectives that help SHINE continue creating opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to live, work, and serve as members of the Kingdom of God.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know the people who are helping shape the future of SHINE. Stay tuned as we continue introducing the amazing individuals who serve on our board!
Ryan Collier – Freeman Health System
Ryan Collier serves as Director of Rehabilitation Services for Freeman Neosho, overseeing multiple rehabilitation programs and facilities while continuing to work directly with patients. His professional background is in physical therapy, and he has dedicated his career to helping individuals improve their independence and quality of life.
Ryan and his wife, Amy, have been married for more than 30 years and have two children, Lynae and Grant. Amy teaches fifth-grade language arts and social studies in Carthage. Lynae previously served at SHINE, and Grant works with students with special needs and will begin teaching physical education this fall.
Ryan is deeply committed to serving his community. He has been an elder at The Bridge Church in Carthage for more than 20 years, serves on the worship team, sits on the Neosho Lions Club Board, and currently serves as Vice President of the Carthage School Board.
Ryan’s connection to individuals with disabilities began early in life through his parents’ work at Sunshine Children’s Home. Through his daughter’s involvement with SHINE and his family’s volunteer service, he developed a deep appreciation for the organization’s mission. Ryan believes every person is uniquely created by God with gifts and talents to share, and he is grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside SHINE as part of a third generation of family involvement.
