Promoting inclusion for those with disabilities. Our Children's Story, Inc. Is a 501(c)3 Organization! Libra J. Hicks is a mother, singer, speaker, philanthropist, and fitness coach. She hosts 2 podcasts called Chit Chat and Chit Chat After Dark. Her drive to service the special needs community started in 2005. After complications from a traumatic birthing experience lead her oldest son to the dia

gnosis of Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy, Libra knew she wouldn't be able to return to a career in music. The care for her oldest intensified as new challenges presented itself. As Libra continued her studies of learning her son and his diagnosis, she discovered a lack of knowledge, self-worth, access to resources, etc. was different from her community. She couldn't get the answers needed, had to fight for information, and even challenge those in charge to provide her with documentation on their practices to ensure fair treatment for her son. As time grew, Libra decided to embark on a 501c3 that would aid her ability to fully assist her community with their needs the best way she could. In 2017 Libra's youngest son, Lyric Ja'Dore was diagnosed with Autism and since then, she's added another reason the morph Our Children's Story, Inc. into an entity that will be there to help families who are just like her. Libra's accomplishments are as followed:

- Fitmom Fitness Situation

- Sisterhood Private Facebook Group (offers programs and workshops to the women in the group who are moms)

- Ja’Dore Awareness Apparel

Libra is determined to bridge the unmet gap to ensure those within the special needs community are served relatively and to the best of her ability! has been in operation since 2017. Since its birth, we've served over 500 families across the united states. During COVID virtual has been the answer for continued services to families at a distance.

Dear P2P Families,

This afternoon, the U.S. Department of Education formally announced an interagency agreement to transfer the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services to the Department of Health and Human Services and the Office for Civil Rights to the Department of Justice.

We know this news may feel unsettling. When systems change, it is natural to have questions about what it means for your child, your family, and the supports you depend on.

As Georgia’s federally designated Parent Training and Information Center, Parent to Parent of Georgia (P2P) is here to help families navigate moments like this with clear, reliable information.

At this time, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, commonly known as IDEA, remains in effect. The rights and protections available to children with disabilities and their families have not changed.

As families prepare for the upcoming school year, we encourage you to continue participating in IEP meetings, requesting evaluations, asking questions, documenting concerns, and using the special education processes available to you under the law.

Although we do not yet know what these federal changes will look like in practice, our role remains the same. P2P will continue sharing timely information, answering questions, and helping families across the state navigate special education, disability services, and available supports.

If you need help navigating special education or have questions about disability services, P2P remains a steady and trusted resource for you. We are here for Georgia families, and our work continues.

Transitioning into adult care has been INSANITY. It’s the lack of GAF these adult physicians and facilities have for the disabled.

Pediatric care was the training grounds for advocating in the adult care arena. JESUS THE CHRIST!
