For women diagnosed with cancer, there is increasing evidence that support groups can be beneficial in improving not only our day to day quality of life, but also our chances of survival. No matter what type of cancer you were diagnosed with or where you are in your diagnosis, you are not alone. So many of us want to share our experiences, resources, and support. So let’s get together to:
• Meet
face-to-face with others who are experiencing or have experienced similar challenges
• Hear presentations by health, nutrition, fitness, legal, and other professionals on topics of interest
• Learn coping skills and strategies during and following your cancer experience
• Socialize with other women who have been where you are
• Express open emotions, personal issues, experiences, struggles, and thoughts in a safe, supportive environment
• Learn about and share cancer resources
• Inspire and encourage fellow cancer patients and survivors through sharing your own experiences
• Experience a safe place for you to reduce anxiety, improve self-esteem, and foster a sense of well-being
• Share knowledge on books, videos, and other resources with each other
• Be creative to reduce stress, elevate your mood, and improve overall well-being
• Improve your sense of hope and promote healing your mind, body and spirit
