Please join our cause and help us so that, Vermont families don’t have to choose between essentials like food, medicine and heat. was started when the Axelrod family had some extra wood in the fall of 2019. But we saw a need, People quickly responded to the offer of free wood, and so we gave what we had away. One of the recipients was particularly grateful, so much so that it prompted Eric’s older
son Devin to say to his Dad, "I want to do Wood for Good every day." Little did Devin know that it was that comment that gave Wood4Good, Ltd. real momentum or that a couple extra cords of wood would eventually turn into a non-profit. Without both Devin's enthusiasm and Logan's buy-in, it would probably never have taken off. From their Dad's perspective, it was about family time, and just as importantly, being able to give back to their community. The idea of philanthropy and its importance was planted in Eric back in the early 2000's shortly after Eric bought his first home in Vermont. At a family event, Eric’s Great Uncle Harvey stressed the importance of philanthropy in a man’s life. It’s the most important cause a man could dedicate himself to, Uncle Harvey said. Fast-forward 20 years and Uncle Harvey’s words laid the groundwork for what would become Wood4Good, Ltd.(501(c)(3)
One of the most special parts of giving back is that it gives you more than you put in and enriches your life as the giver. A higher purpose is something that Eric was searching for, and Wood4Good fell into his lap. The Axelrod's are grateful to be able to give back to the community and the state they so deeply value and cherish.
