What will we be talking about at the 2026 Capital City Housing Conference?
A lot.
This year's conference theme is "Turning Conversations Into Action", and along with giving attendees the first look at the new Housing Strategy, we've also assembled community leaders from across Jefferson City to discuss some of our community's most important housing and homelessness challenges.
š "Creating Housing Opportunities in Jefferson City"
Moderated by housing consultant Jeff Lubell, this panel will explore what it takes to create more housing in our community and the role that business, finance, real estate, local government, and downtown development all play in shaping Jefferson City's future.
Panelists include representatives from Central Bank, the Jefferson City Area Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson City Area Board of REALTORSĀ®, City staff, and downtown businesses.
š "What We Learned About Homelessness"
Members of the Jefferson City's Task Force on Homelessness will share key findings, lessons learned, and recommendations from their 18-month study of homelessness in Jefferson City.
Panelists include Task Force Chair Scott Johnston, Claudia Young from the Missouri River Regional Library, Officer Hitt of the Jefferson City Police Department, and others. The discussion will be moderated by the Task Force's Vice-Chair Susan Cook.
š "Community Solutions in Action"
Hear from organizations actively working on housing and homelessness issues right here in Jefferson City. Representatives from CMCA, Transformational Housing, Salvation Army, Housing JC, Habitat for Humanity, local developers, and others will discuss current initiatives, future plans, and opportunities for community involvement.
If you've ever wondered:
⢠Why housing matters to our community
⢠What is being done about homelessness
⢠What local organizations are already doing
⢠How you can be part of the solution
This conference is for you.
