On September 29, India Home brought together community members, elected officials, supporters, and partners for the inauguration of our Smart Food Pantry at Jamaica Market in Queens!

Combining smart technology with culturally familiar food, the pantry reflects our commitment to helping neighbors access nutritious groceries with dignity and ease. 💚

India Home’s Annual Picnic brought our seniors and staff together for a day of connection, laughter, and time spent with friends. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a lovely day!

Yesterday, our India Home community came together to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival honoring Lord Ganesha— the elephant-headed deity of wisdom, prosperity and new beginnings, known as the remover of obstacles.

Our Elmhurst Center was filled with devotion and joy as seniors sang bhajans and aartis, shared prasad and enjoyed a delicious lunch together.

This evening, India Home is honored to stand alongside fellow South Asian and Indo-Caribbean organizations for a candlelight vigil remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Together, we will read the names of those we lost, hold space for our collective grief and reflect on the discrimination our communities faced in the aftermath of 9/11. This gathering is also a reminder of our communities’ enduring strength and their integral place in the story and fabric of New York City.

We invite you to join us as we come together in remembrance, dignity and solidarity.
