Still feeling the spirit of Independence Day! 🇮🇳💙💚

Our seniors continued their celebration of India’s Independence Day with heartfelt bhajans and patriotic songs, filling the center with music, memories, and pride. It was a beautiful way to come together and honor the occasion through songs that hold a special place in so many hearts.

Our seniors brought their energy, joy, and incredible moves to the 11th Annual Queens India Day Parade! 🇮🇳✨

We were so proud to watch the Sakhi Senior Dance Group take the stage and celebrate India’s Independence Day through music, dance, and community. Their performance was a beautiful reminder that there is no age limit to celebrating culture, staying active, and doing what you love. 💃🏽

We had an amazing time at NYC Parks’ and NYC Aging’s Senior Splash class! 🌊
Our Desi Senior Center seniors learned water aerobics and brought so much enthusiasm to every moment. A big thank you to New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and NYC Department for the Aging for leading such a fun, empowering class and experience.

A heartfelt thank you to Destiny James, a dedicated social worker from JASA, for leading an important Elder Abuse Awareness Workshop at our Desi Senior Center. We're also grateful to Nargis, whose Bangla translation helped ensure that every senior could fully understand and connect to this important message.

Our seniors enjoyed a wonderful Golden Memories Session filled with creativity, connection, and fun!

From engaging art activities🎨 to indoor games🎲 and recreational activities, the session brought plenty of smiles and opportunities to connect.

Through programs like these, we’re creating a welcoming space where seniors can express their creativity, build friendships, stay engaged, and make joyful memories together. 💚💙
