We all know there is no quick fix to Haiti's endemic corruption. It took years to get to that point. It will take years to eradicate and a level of commitment both from Haitians and the international community. As both has been enablers to Haiti's state of affairs. If we want president Jovenel Moise to become the poster child of corruption, so be it. But we can no longer afford to replace a group of corrupts with another group of corrupts. As we have lived through five transitional governments. If anything they have made matters worse. We want to sell to the teanager who still believes in Santa Claus that this transition will be the last when we well know it's not true. After witnessing the lack of trust that the majority has shown to the opposition leaders, we need to go back to the drawing board. Something I don't foresee any of us willing to do. As some of us on all sides of the aisle are seeking the help of the international community. We are clearly sending the signal that we are incapable of running our own country. And willing to seat at the table inclusively.
The departure of president Moise will not take place without the accord of the middle class. As most middle and small entreprises have fallen victims of the months of protests. The lost of income of the middle class has to be addressed. Some have become the "NEW POOR"
As long as there is a refusal to address the issues and concerns of the middle class, there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
After seeing the opposition in action. The corruption level of the people in the opposition. I don't think the resignation of president Jovenel Moise is the solution.
The solution to Haiti problems is to start at the grassroots level. By changing one commune at a time. Educating the voters so they can make better political choices. Have a new electoral council. Amend the constitution to make it more inclusive for all Haiti's children. A strong reform of the judicial system. Provide better assistance and training to the police force. Reinstating the military with a new mandate. Create a more inclusive society where all human rights are valued and protected. Reinforce our agricultural sector. Becoming a state of law where impunity is no longer the norm.
Basically rebuild the nation
