Today, faith leaders, community advocates, and New Yorkers gathered on the steps of City Hall for a Prayer Vigil and Press Conference calling for equal protection, accountability, and justice for all New Yorkers.

The event was moderated by Afaf Nasher, Executive Director of CAIR-NY, who guided a powerful interfaith gathering united against Islamophobia, hate, and discrimination.

The program featured remarks from:

• Afaf Nasher – Council on American-Islamic Relations of New York (CAIR-NY)
• Rabbi Jason Klein – Jews For Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ)
• Imam Ibrahim Ahmed
• Henry Goldschmidt – Interfaith Council of New York
• Japneet Singh – President, Khalsa Community Patrol
• Raj Golye – Brahma Kumaris
• Mark Fang – Former Commissioner, Westchester Division of Human Rights
• Chuck Park – Catholic Representative
• Abdullah Alebdy – Majlis Ashura (Islamic Leadership Council of New York)
• Yasser Salem – President, OneNYC (Keynote Speaker)

Together, the speakers called for one standard of safety, protection, equity, and accountability for all New Yorkers, regardless of faith, race, or background.

The gathering also honored the memories of Amin Abdullah, Mansour Kazima, and Nader Awad, victims of the San Diego mosque attack, and reaffirmed our collective commitment to combating hate and protecting vulnerable communities.

Our message remains clear:

One Standard for Safety. One Standard for Protection. One Standard for Equity. One Standard for Accountability. No Exceptions.

Thank you to all faith leaders, community organizations, elected officials, media partners, and community members who stood together in solidarity and justice.
