Giving a huge shout out to Sam Whitt for always doing an outstanding job at preparing and serving food for all of our events. You give of your time and skills endlessly and please don’t think that we don’t appreciate everything that you do for us. The food is always outstanding. Thank you for preparing breakfast so that all of the riders start their day out right. You are truly a blessing to us. Also want to thank Lori Steichen and the VFW 7909 canteen for providing the food for yesterday’s ride. Don’t think we forgot about you CeCe for coming to serve refreshments. Great team that we are.

Our Rider’s group did a phenomenal job yesterday leading the ride for love without limits. It is nice to see that their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed. You guys work constantly at bettering yourselves in providing safety to your group and we are very proud to have you as our road crew . Our assistance in hosting the event helped to raise over $4800 to feed our local homeless. You all should be very proud of yourselves.

Poor Man's Supper: Supper is chicken tetrazzini, ham tetrazzini or pork and pasta and dessert by Kathy and crew. Supper is $6.00 and will be served from 1715 until we run out or the cooks get tired.
Bingo: Starts at 1800.

Thursday,
Supper (Pizza Night at the Big V No crew at this time. If you have a crew, contact the Post at (904) 778-7909.
Shuffleboard: Starts at 1800.
Entertainment: Karaoke with Kent starting at 1930-2330.

Friday,
Supper: Dinner will be baked lasagna, salad, garlic bread and dessert by Kathy and crew. Dinner is $11 and will be served from 1730 until 1930. We are in need of a few volunteers for this meal. If you can help, contact the Post at (904) 778-7909.
Purple Heart Day: Ceremony begins at 1700.
Entertainment: Peggie & Hoss starting at 1930.

If you don't know how to play, we'll teach you! If you have a favorite board game or card game, bring it with you, and we'll try to incorporate it into the schedule of play! All are welcome!

We need all the volunteers we can get for Post cleanup, both inside and outside the building. Please come in and help on Saturday, August 8 from 1000 until
1400. Cleaning supplies will be provided, but bring gloves if you need them.

VFWPost7909 Glenn Wright Memorial Post “80th Anniversary” August 22, 2026. Social Gathering will begin at 1600. Presentation and discussion will begin at 1700. Buffet Dinner will be at 1730. Food & drinks, raffles and fun all day long. No smoking in the post all day.
